The Cantonment Public School established in 1958, was raised to intermediate level in 1968 as C.B Sir Syed College, Rawalpindi and elevated to Degree Level in 1972.

The school and the college wings were separated in 1975 into two independent institutions. C.B Sir Syed College Rawalpindi functioned under the  auspices of the Cantonment Board, Rawalpindi, until its nationalization on June 01,1975. The College is presently under the administrative control of the Federal Government Education Institutions (Cantts/Garrisons) Directorate, GHQ, and Ministry of Defence, Rawalpindi.

The College is a premier public sector institution which is imparting quality education to hundreds of students at Intermediate and Degree Level every year. It has earned a very good reputation and has virtually become the rst choice of boy students after matriculation.

Since its inception, the College has the singular honour of securing well over 100 Board Positions in various disciplines upto the Year 2013. Its students have got highest A-1 grades in comparison with other colleges affiliated with the Federal Board. Twice it has been declared ‘the Best College’ affiliated with the Federal Board.

The College is located at a prime location on the Mall, Rawalpindi. It has a small but beautiful campus with spacious classrooms, well-equipped science and computer labs and a library with a rich collection. With the addition of the New Admin. Block, its campus has become all the more serene. The college promises an excellent educational environment to its students so that they may display their physical and mental potentials to the best of their abilities.
